FIRST AID CERTIFICATION:

National Food Safety Training Program

The NFSTP course will help food handlers and management in Food Service and Food Retail operations learn how to prepare and serve safe food. Certificate course.

Coffee and Computers with Laura:

This class is a drop-in class to provide an opportunity for individuals to come and ask common computer questions.

SEPTEMBER CLASSES:

Basic Office Skills Program:

This course is a comprehensive 6 week program that will instruct participants in the development of standard skills for working in an office environment. Classes include computer skills, word, excel, emailing, customer service, basic book keeping, public speaking etc. Please call if interested – start date will depend on registrations.

Course will be 6 weeks- Monday to Thursday 10-3

COST:$500 ($200 required at course start- remaining can be paid in payments)
please note this is not a credited program, participants will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of reference

 

Intro to Photography:

Students will learn the basics of a DSLR camera including terminology, function of the camera, elements of a photo and some hands-on experience.

Beginner Trail Running

For Beginner runners who want to run for fun….Walk to Run program using Lacombe’s wonderful trail system. Learn how to transition from walking to running and the importance of the after- stretch. Diane Hayduk is an experienced trail runner from the Bill Nielsen Trail Society with a 7 year career of running and has competed in many distances and races.

English Pronunciation Classes:
Class to help improve pronunciation issues for English Language Learners. This is not suitable for beginner ESL.

In this class your will learn and practice the basic math skills. Fall GED is Oct 2-Dec 13th.

Grief Recovery Group Support  

The Grief Recovery Method will teach you the steps to take to move beyond the grief that is a normal and natural reaction to loss or change of any kind. There are over 40 kinds of loss we can experience in a lifetime and they all create pain that can range from uncomfortable to overwhelming. Over 8 weeks, you will be guided through the process that will help you let go of your pain and achieve an improved quality of life.

Pet Loss Support Group  

Losing your pet is painful. If you have found yourself almost inconsolable after your pet died, know that this is common, normal and natural. Pets offer unconditional love and acceptance, joy, affection, comfort and company. Their deaths produce a level of pain that is difficult to describe. Over 6 weeks you will learn the steps of The Grief Recovery Method that will help you let go of your pain and achieve an improved quality of life.

Helping Children With Loss    

Whether the children you care about have experienced or are about to encounter a significant emotional loss due to a friend moving away, death – human or animal, separation, divorce, house moves, change of schools, being adopted, fostered or bullied, having the correct information at your fingertips can made a significant difference to their progress and well-being. This 6 week program is suitable for parent, teachers, grandparents, youth workers, social workers, health care workers or any adult who want to learn how to communicate effectively with children about losses they have had or will have, using The Grief Recovery Method.

This session is to provide information for individuals that are experiencing changes in their abilities or for care givers to those experiencing aging related changes to independent living.
